Reverse Mortgage Loan Consultant
The reverse mortgage business line provides seniors with access to their accumulated home equity without the burden of monthly mortgage payments. Key components of this business are creating a trusting relationship with consumers, providing education to consumers regarding the product features, benefits, and options, meeting or exceeding sales, market share, revenue and profitability goals, while ensuring that all sales comply with applicable laws and regulations, and producing and servicing loans in the most cost efficient manner possible.
The Reverse Mortgage Loan Consultant (RMLC) functions as the dedicated retail origination source for reverse mortgage business for Countrywide Bank. The RMLC is responsible for advising customers on suitable loan programs, providing product comparisons, performing thorough pre-qualifications, supplying fulfillment materials, as applicable and appropriate. Delivers a quality of customer service which outperforms the efforts of competitors, and which surpasses customer expectations, providing for referral business and a strong community presence.
Primary responsibilities include:

Conduct sales calls on senior consumers and their advisors to solicit reverse mortgage business and to originate applications and complete and submit correct loan packages. Provide product and industry knowledge in order to educate and assist the senior consumer in the buying process and complete all the duties required to originate a reverse mortgage loan application package. Maintains on going communication with the consumer through out the loan process.

Accepts and originates loan applications and obtains all pertinent documentation in accordance with regulatory and Countrywide’s guidelines. Sets up loan files and forwards loan files for processing. Provide on going communication with the senior customer and the loan processing center and all required support required to assist in the loan process.

Maintain files on all active and pending customers. Establish and maintain a follow through system for weekly customer contact.

Monitor, track and report results of loan production.

Coordinate monthly and quarterly reviews with Reverse Mortgage Area Sales Manager.

Identify and network with professional advisors and influencers in the local senior market. Utilize business development skills to generate referral business and support the reverse mortgage needs of their customers. Develop effective customer and advisor database and use position with each segment.
Maintain current knowledge of reverse mortgage product, industry activities and senior consumer profile and needs. Stay abreast of current reverse mortgage lending programs and Underwriting guidelines, current trends in local market place with regard to real estate sales, property values, lender activity and competition in the local market.

Consistently supports the commitment to compliance by adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and the Countrywide Bank's policies and procedures and reporting all incidence of non-compliance to their immediate manager.

Achieve and maintain Reverse Mortgage Certification through on going study and performance on exams. Maintain knowledge and complete required training for correct origination of reverse mortgage loan.
A successful candidate will have:

High school diploma or equivalent. A college degree is preferred.

Minimum 2 years experience in reverse mortgage field, in a sales capacity.

Possess excellent organizational skills, excellent presentation skills and exhibit a professional appearance.

Experience in developing and implementing targeted marketing and sales plan.

Strong communication, organization and time management skills.

Proven business development and territory management skills.

Proven volume of reverse mortgage loan production, minimum of 6 to 8 fundings per month.

Thorough working knowledge of pre-qualification principles and practices.

Understanding of the selling process.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work flexible hours on a regular basis with mandatory availability on weekends.

PC proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to interact effectively with customers and other business partners.
