Reverse Mortgage, Area Sales Manager
The department is responsible for directing the development and implementation of reverse mortgage dedicated retail sales force and strategies to maximize the production of reverse mortgage loans.
The Reverse Mortgage, Area Sales Manager is responsible for the recruiting, hiring and development of a team of reverse mortgage sales professionals.
Primary responsibilities include:

Direct the hiring, development, training and management of the dedicated reverse mortgage loan consultant sales staff. Works with the Reverse Mortgage Corporate Marketing and Sales support staff to identify opportunities to increase the effectiveness of the sales force.

Oversee and manage the dedicated retail sales staff. Develops sales mentoring and coaching strategies. Research and develop tactical sales strategies by region. Works closely with Countrywide’s Consumer Markets Division regional management to increase reverse mortgage market penetration.

Maintain current knowledge of reverse mortgage product, industry activities and senior consumer profile and needs. Stay abreast of current reverse mortgage lending programs and Underwriting guidelines, current trends in local market place with regard to real estate sales, property values, lender activity and competition in the local market.

Identify, develop and Affinity Business partners as potential production referral sources for reverse mortgage loans.

Review activities and production results with Reverse Mortgage Loan Consultant on monthly and quarterly basis to assess their effectiveness and success. Monitor and update plan goals and provide summary reports to senior management on the status of Strategic Plan initiatives, sales efforts and production.

Delivers a quality of customer service which outperforms the efforts of competitors, and which surpasses customer expectations, providing for referral business and a strong community presence.

Consistently supports the commitment to compliance by adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and the Countrywide Bank's policies and procedures and reporting all incidence of non-compliance to immediate manager.
A successful candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, or combination of Bachelor’s degree in another field combined with industry experience.

5+ years in sales and sales management within the mortgage or financial services industry.

Minimum 2 years in reverse mortgage.

Strong sales and customer service skills.

Excellent verbal and written communications.

Excellent follow-up and organization skills and be extremely personable, outgoing, confident and friendly.

Excellent presentation skills and exhibit a professional appearance.

General and specific knowledge of reverse mortgages and the industry.

Thorough working knowledge of pre-qualification principles and practices.

Ability to work flexible hours on a regular basis with mandatory availability on weekends.

Understanding of the selling process.

PC proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to interact effectively with customers and other business partners.

Experience in developing and implementing targeted marketing and sales plan.
