Assist with federal tax planning and research on transactions that impact Capital One and its effective tax rate

Assist tax planning group on formulating advice to Treasury, Finance, and Legal departments on federal tax implications of implementing corporate planning strategies

Provide tax information and respond to questions generated from internal Capital One departments

Research tax planning strategies that lower the effective tax rate

Research emerging federal tax issues and potential impact to Capital One

Assist with tax planning projects to achieve targeted goals

Report to Manager of Tax Planning and Business Consultancy
REQUIREMENTS
Required

BS in Accounting or JD

1-5 years of corporate tax experience in a CPA firm and/or major corporation

Strong analytical skills (experience garnered in an accounting, planning or forecasting role

Strong communication, research, and writing skills

The ability to work independently, develop new ideas, create flexibility and take ownership responsibilities

Flexibility with respect to occasional day travel to Richmond, VA and other company sites as needed



Preferred

CPA or MS in Tax a plus
