Occupational Health Nurse Skills Management Title

Job Level: NONEXEMPTBusiness Component: Shared Services (SSG)Job Description: Provide nursing service to employees with injuries and/or illnesses including emergency and urgent care. Give treatment, administer medication and immunizations, and perform assessments within limits established and authorized by supervision and in accordance with Nursing Procedures manual and/or a health care provider's direction and within the Nurse Practice Act in the State of Washington. Promotes a sense of urgency within the clinic setting creating efficient patient flow patterns. Advice and direct care when working with medical assistants. Refer cases requiring medical attention to a health care provider. Interpret existing medical and healthcare procedures and practices to resolve questions involving nursing assessment, treatment and triage. Identify and refer employees with test results that are critical and/or who have urgent values needing immediate attention. Competencies Requires current Washington state license for Registered Nurse. License must be active and in good standing. Should have at least 5 years postgraduate experience in related nursing field (ER, ICU, Occupational, or Urgent Care settings preferred). Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must have clear organizational skills with ability to prioritize. Must have very good computing skills. Must be able to multitask and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Occupational Health experience preferred, COHN a plus.Notes: Other duties as assigned. Must have good customer service skills with attention to details. May need to work at other Puget Sound clinics and other shift hours as needs dictate.
