Full Job Title: Manager, Optical Communication Programs Skills Management Title Comm Systems DesignJob Level: MANAGEMENTBusiness Component: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS)Job Description: Program Manager, Systems Engineering lead, and line manager for all Optical Communication programs and systems engineering personnel in El Segundo and St. Louis. Responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple gov¿t contracts for optical communications hardware and software development, demonstrations, and studies. Also responsible to capture new CR&D contracts and the development of an Optical Communications strategy. As the line manager for all optical systems engineering personnel, this position is responsible for ensuring all performance evaluations are completed and up to date along with all normal personnel management and program specific training and tools. Competencies In-depth knowledge of Optical Communication systems and technologies. Experience in the acquistion of gov?t programs and a thorough understanding of US gov?t systems and missions. Must posses strong business acumen and be knowledgeable in current and possible future US gov't policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting optical strategies and tactics in the marketplace. Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.
