Full Job Title: Engineer/S, Systems Engineering Skills Management Title Systems EngineeringJob Level: MANAGEMENTBusiness Component: Integrated Defense Systems (IDS)Job Description: Highly experienced senior engineer who understands Government System architectures and the engineering issues associated with large systems. Responsible for leading major IPT's and their key subcontractors to identify technical and mission performance risks and to define risk mitigation plans. Responsible for identifying and resolving complex technical issues across a multi-contractor and government team that impacts the technical integrity or mission performance of the deployed system. Work will include travel to several Boeing facilities (both within California and out of state) and the East Coast. Particular expertise on classified space systems and associates space-ground interfaces. Develops and establishes policies, direction, budgets and resources, organizational structures, management and team relationships, and performance targets with general direction from executive management. Competencies 1) Technical Skills & Knowledge: End to end system integration, experience with specific customer, and with customer mission. Experience in satellite system development including, a previous leadership role in systems engineering, chairing engineering change boards, and integration and test. System or Satellite operations is desirable as is a previous leadership role in ACS, mission planning, satellite command and control, and/or ground processing. 2) Leadership: Leads tasks and people effectively; guides and coaches others to improve skills and achieve challenging goals; inspires and motivates others; solicits and considers others' opinions. Knowledgeable about how organizations work. Knows how to get things done both though formal channels and the informal network.
