COMMERCIAL LOAN SERVICE LIAISON / LOAN SERVICING SPECIALIST

Responsible for acting as interface between line commercial lending functions and the commercial loan processing center. Ensures loan system accuracy, adherence to credit policies and procedures, and effective, efficient customer service.

1. Develops an in-depth understanding of assigned portfolio to provide quality customer service while protecting bank assets. Understands and evaluates complex notes and agreements to achieve proper boarding and accounting entries.
2. Acts as interface to commercial lenders, credit officers and various internal departments. May include interpreting policies and procedures, answering questions, researching and resolving problems and discrepancies related to the service center and/or the commercial loan system.
3. Creates new obligor hierarchy and database on the AFS commercial lending system by interpreting CR115 and credit agreements to ensure compliance with stipulations and conditions for approval as established in those documents, and bank and department operations policy. Identifies and assess exceptions to policy, obtaining appropriate written or verbal approvals. Maintains a database to monitor and report policy exceptions on a monthly basis.
4. Prepare new obligor/obligation worksheets, assigning proper coding to new, renewed and modified obligors and obligations. Ensures maintenance of loan system for reporting, funding, billing, collection, distribution and collateralization.
5. Reviews weekly delinquent reports for Liaisons to identify delinquencies due to bank error.
6. Ensures compliance with various Federal and State regulations by monitoring loan portfolio and submitting requests for certification and validation by account officers. May be required to prepare reports or correspondence to customer for account officer follow-up.
7. Identifies and monitors loan subjects to repricing. Notifies commercial lenders of upcoming repricings and prepayment penalties associated with fixed rate loans. Establishes appropriate pricing schedules in the commercial loan system.
8. Reviews various system generated reports to ensure accuracy of loan system accounting and maintenance. Identifies and requests correction of inaccuracies as appropriate.
9. Interfaces with the commercial loan documentation unit for mutual concurrence on loan accounting structure and disposition of loan documents.
10. Provides training support and guidance to service center and commercial loan system users. Will assist in development and training of Assistant Liaisons.
11. Provides backup to “matched” liaison during lunch, vacations, meetings and other absences.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• High School or equivalent
• 3 - 5 Years
• Thorough knowledge of AFS loan system and centralized commercial loan operations. Good understanding of commercial lending requirements and general lending policies and procedures. Previous customer service experience necessary. Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
