We are looking for a Business Development Officer to join our Home Equity Broker Division of the Consumer Lending Department in Los Angeles, CA. In this position you’ll be responsible for the outside sales of the Home Equity Broker Division. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining, developing, and expanding relationships with Mortgage Brokers and Bankers. The incumbent will educate Mortgage Brokers on BPNA’s service commitment, product variation, and rates, and communicate new products, and "niches" as needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Sales – Approximately 90%
Develop, retain, and expand relationships with wholesale mortgage brokers and bankers in order to meet established individual and department sales goals.
Develop and maintain a quality wholesale broker and banker loan portfolio which shows continuing profitability, low delinquency, and minimal losses while adhering to the bank's loan policy.
Conduct face to face and telephone business development efforts through individual presentations to prospects.
Recognize, qualify, and develop new Mortgage Broker clients in order to meet established goals.
Complete daily work/sales plans.
Understand competitive environment and effectively sells against it.
Recognize and qualify wholesale broker and banker prospects for relationship building as it pertains to the business needs of the client and BPNA.
Review pipeline daily with Division Manager and processor to ensure pull through goals are being met.
Review assigned broker list weekly to maximize sales calls and production.
Provide quality, personalized service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Assist wholesale brokers, banker and/or end customers with maintenance, documentation, customer correspondence, and paperwork required to complete the sale.
Effectively utilize technology to accurately complete required client files, documentation, and paperwork.
3. Training - Approximately 5%
Maintain a high level of financial-services knowledge through in-house and external training.
4. General Administration - Approximately 5%
Actively participate in sales, bank, and joint department meetings.
Prepare and submit sales call, expense, and other sales-related reports on a timely basis.
Provide feedback on client concerns: product features, pricing, and new product development needs
Performance Measurements:
Works closely with assigned clients, completes sales calls, follows through with referrals and generates new dollar growth for loans
Meets loan sales goals.
Meets daily calling and application goals.
Adheres to loan, documentation and compliance policies and procedures.
To join our team, you’ll need
2-4 years mortgage experience, preferably in sales and Wholesale mortgage lending.
Bachelors degree in marketing or finance
Outstanding sales, interpersonal and communication skills
Displays good negotiation skills and good business judgment
Specific knowledge of financial industry products, services, pricing and profitability
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office
