POSITION SUMMARY:The Business Development Manager (BDM) position is responsible for developing new business utilizing MILA’s defined Sales Process and our innovative mortgage technology. MILA’s strategy is to use a consultative selling approach to gain access to the broker’s point of sale process, integrate technology and develop user activity. By having access to MILA’s innovative technology, and our highly skilled and efficient Operations team, you will have vast resources to support, develop and expand your broker base.Essential Duties for the BDM Role:
•Influence decision-makers to use MILA as a first choice for each loan file
•Train users on inputting their loans through AccessPoint in order to implement an e-commerce solution to maximize their business
The BDM accomplishes this by getting face-to-face in broker offices. The old model of making a large quantity of transactions is replaced with the strategy of using a consultative approach in order to help brokers understand the MILA difference and how this difference can increase their earnings.The main focus of BDM has less to do with acquiring a large number of brokers putting through a small number of loans and more to do with finding the best brokers and concentrating on relationship building with them. Less is better in this case due to the time needed to build a quality relationship with brokers who will give MILA the majority of their business. Profiling offices is extremely critical in determining which ones best fit this scenario.Because MILA’s rates have proven to be competitive in the marketplace, the BDM is not selling product as much as they are advancing the use of MILA’s single point of sale and loan management online system, which handles the loan application from end-to-end, underwriting through closing. In a heavily paper-driven industry, the BDM concentrates on changing the mindset and behavior of brokers in order to increase their business by shifting the paradigm to a paperless way of doing business. The BDM, acting as an implementation manager, is onsite to show and train loan officers and processors how inputting loans into AccessPoint gives them control and management over their loan files and saves them time.Here is small sample of some of our accomplishments over the last few years:MILA, INC. REQUIREMENTS

2+ years of wholesale mortgage sales experience in an outside sales capacity required
1+ years of experience training brokers on an automated loan fulfillment solution with an Alt-A or Prime mortgage lender is required
BA/BS Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Capable of implementing a pre-defined sales strategy and sales process to achieve daily activity goals
Solution oriented sales experience with a strong understanding of SPIN selling techniques and the customer buying processAbility to maintain a consistent schedule of office visits to existing accounts 2-3 times a week in order to achieve daily goals and help users achieve proficiency with MILA’s online technologyPosses the necessary skills to implement MILA technology throughout the mortgage fulfillment processExcellent analytical, verbal and written communication skillsExceptional time management, organizational and follow up skillsSelf-directed, self-motivated and goal-oriented producerProficiency working with web-based applications and have solid computer skillsData entry skills with the ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm
Possess a commitment to personal and company-wide growthAbility and drive to exceed monthly and quarterly goals
Must have experience successfully working from a home officePosses a laptop computer for use in the fieldPosses a car or other source of reliable transportation to travel to sales officesAbility to meet volume goals within the first 60 days of employment
