An exciting new opportunity to represent USC Credit Union as the Business Banking Development Officer working with its members and its affiliate, de novo commercial lending organization owned by a consortium of Southern California credit unions. USC Credit Union is competitively positioned to provide extraordinary financing capabilities to the business community within its membership and the Los Angeles marketplace.

Those individuals with backgrounds which combine both traditional and SBA lending are most desirable. The primary role will be to build, develop and solicit new client relationships, as well as structure and negotiate transactions which fit within the credit parameters established by USC credit union.

Key Responsibilities:
•Generate leads within established lending guidelines
•Develop and conduct prospect presentations and proposals
•Quickly evaluate customer needs; build/apply understanding of customer’s industry; tailor financing solutions to meet customer needs; and manage customer expectations throughout the loan and documentation process
•Take lead in negotiating the terms of the transaction including loan amount, pricing, and structure
•Able to close transactions
•Ensure the submittal of complete loan packages to the underwriter
•Maintain and grow sourcing network for generating future deal activity
•Develop relationships with referral sources such as attorney’s, accountant’s , brokers and community members to identify prospects for new business opportunities
•Act as the primary liaison between Credit Union and underwriters
•Maintain competitive market awareness

Other Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in business, related field or equivalent experience
•Minimum 5 years experience in business banking
•Solid sales, organizational, analytical, communications and credit skills
•Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills
•Demonstrated working knowledge of financial statements
•Understand commercial loan documentation
•Effective teaming; customer orientation; and self motivated
