Accounting Supervisor Loan Accounting

REQUIREMENTS
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and provide feedback on staff accountant’s daily work.
Perform month end close activities, including journal entry review, variance analysis for income statement and balance sheet accounts, reconciliation and reporting review, and drafting financial statement disclosures, in conjunction with department deadlines.
Have a thorough understanding of GAAP for areas of responsibility
Make recommendations and participate in implementation of ad hoc projects to increase system and process efficiencies
Field reporting requests from various departments at will
Provide direct leadership and training for those less experienced in the department
Participate in regular maintenance of department policies and procedures
Represent the department on system upgrade and implementation projects
Assist with Sarbanes Oxley internal control testing and compliance
Assist internal and external auditors with reviews
Work on special projects as required
Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Licenses:
Must have a solid knowledge of GAAP as well as good analytical skills
Ability to multitask with minimal supervision and ability to meet timelines
Ability to work in a very dynamic and rabidly changing environment
Ability to anticipate audit requirements and generate audit-friendly work product
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact with people from all levels of the company
Strong PC skills including Excel, Access, and Word
Time management & organizational skills
Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to accept increasing responsibility
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
CPA or MBA preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years relevant accounting industry experience required
Prior public accounting experience highly desirable
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting software and MSP/Fidelity servicing system preferred
