job description Position Description: Major Responsibilities: Position will reside in Corporate Accounting and job duties will include the following: Position will focus on the analysis of specific cash disbursement activities that will require ability to work with business owners to understand nature of activity and recommend proper accounting treatment and coding. As a result of the analysis and decision making, journal entry will need to be created to facilitate recording of activity to the G/L in a timely & accurate manner. Account reconciliation is required for assigned GL accounts. Additional responsibilities will include building business relationships with assigned internal departments and guiding the department through each montly close process, ensuring appropriate accruals are made, accounting rules are followed in accordance with GAAP, and reporting needs are met to allow analysis of departmental data. Will assist in monthly variance analysis of income statement and balance sheet account activity and documenting the month to month variances. Activities will include Accounting support for special projects as needed.Minimum Qualifications: (Job related skills, experience, and education): Three to five years of accounting experience. Applicant should be familiar with accounting standards such as FAS 5, FAS 115, APB 86 so as to be familiar with why and how to handle various accounting transactions that occur on a month to month basis. Bachelor of Accounting degree or equivalent from a college institution CPA is a plus Strong computer skills are required related to Microsoft Excel.
