Vice President, Operations Manager
ReconTrust performs non-judicial foreclosure, lien release, and partial release services to Countrywide Home Loans, and its affiliates, as well as provides similar services to investors and mortgage lenders throughout the country. In every case, the responsible business unit must follow investor guidelines and state-specific legal procedures to ensure all documents are filed of record in a timely manner, and all processes are in strict compliance. ReconTrust maintains an operating infrastructure that includes legal, accounting, compliance, information technology, and business unit management.
This position manages, evaluates and develops personnel and designs and implements procedures and efficiency producing measures. Also reviews procedures submitted by direct reports to verify compliance with changes in investor/servicing/legal requirements.
Primary responsibilities include:

Maintains a working knowledge of legal requirements for all states and/or processes that
affect the assigned business unit(s).

Prepares business plans and budgets and ensures that the business unit goals and budgets are met.

Reviews and approves recommendations from junior managers in complex cases where litigation is a risk, and works with legal counsel to resolve issues.

Prepare performance evaluations and managing salary administration, vendor management,
customer relations management and customer retention activities.

Some marketing activities may be required, such as attending conferences and on-site customer visits.

Follow policy and procedures the business unit has in place to manage risks, follow all required internal control protocols, respond accurately and timely to all internal and external audit requests.

Monitor direct reports as they manage their daily operations to ensure timely and accurate processing of the business unit's assigned work and verify timely resolution of problems.

Create and modify policies and procedures in response to changes to state and federal rules and regulations, including investor guideline changes.

Set goals, develop cost effective procedures, ensure that budget and operational goals are met.

Review production statistics and timeline statistics. Take appropriate action to correct deviations from department standards. Set new goals and update standards and procedures as necessary.

Monitor and participate in creating and delivering staff training.

Oversee human resource related activities of direct reports, including writing performance reviews, administering salaries, tracking time and attendance, and overseeing training.

Monitor and ensure accuracy for various accounting functions. Report on deviations from budgets and respond accordingly to correct or explain such deviations.

Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and investor guidelines; oversee development and implementation of procedural changes, system modifications and organizational changes.

Monitor vendor performance and implement corrective measures as necessary. Assess value of vendors to company, investigate and add/replace vendors as business expands or as needs change.

Make on-site visits to vendors and clients and attend conferences as directed.

Review, edit and submit final business plans and budgets annually or as required.
A successful candidate will have:

High School diploma or equivalent. College degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance or other related field or equivalent work experience.

7+ years experience in increasingly responsible positions preferably in a mortgage/banking, insurance or other related field.

Working knowledge of all legal and technical issues within assigned business unit(s).

Familiarity with investor and insurer servicing guidelines.

Strong comprehension, listening, negotiating, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Excel, Access, Windows.

Self-motivation, detail oriented and have ability to multi-task.

Ability to write job descriptions, evaluate performance, motivate, coach, train and handle all personnel issues of assigned staff.

Ability to form assigned staff into an effective successful team.
