Job Description:

Lead and/or support continuous manufacturing process improvement activities, including cycle time and scrap reduction, and FPY, OEE, safety, productivity improvements. * Maintain/edit software for assembly and test equipment. * Work with team and suppliers in the development, purchase, installation, and optimization of new manufacturing equipment. * Utilize electrical, pneumatic, and control schematics/tools to troubleshoot/repair electrical, motion control, and vision system problems. * Write/maintain operator work instructions, procedures, and PFMEA's. * Willing and able to work overtime as necessary for timely completion of projects and/or production support. * Willing and able to travel occasionally to fulfill duties as described.


Knowledge of sensors, data collection, and operator interface equipment.

Knowledge of industrial communications standards incl. RS232/422/485, DH485/DH+, TCP/IP, NFS, FTP. * Knowledge of PLC programming, preferably Allen-Bradley PLC-2, PLC-5, SLC-500 incl. remote I/O and/or fieldbus I/O.

Knowledge of robotic programming, preferably with Adept V+ and/or AIM.

Knowledge of MS, Unix/Linux platforms, and programming in VB6.0 and/or VB.NET.

Experience integrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining motion control systems.

Minimum 5 years experience with integrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining motion control systems, robotic assembly systems, automated assembly and test systems, and the control systems that they utilize to function (using knowledge outlined above).

Knowledge of SPC

B.S. in Engineering (Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
