Product Planning Manager

Responsibilities: •Researches and coordinates the initial planning and development of new advanced and high technology products and business plans.•Researches market trends and competitive situations to develop product strategy, market pricing, promotion points, and gross profit models.•Ability to plan products from inception through launch•Coordinates category-planning, packaging, pricing with sales/marketing and other departments (overseas) as necessary•Working knowledge of wireless products and computer-related technologies•Works closely on product application procedures and testing with the Engineering and QA departments to ensure product quality and application compatibility•Works with Procurement and outside vendors to develop high quality product value at industry-acceptable prices•Arranges product-planning meetings and provides updates to supervisors, as necessary•Assists in the accurate development and production of product literature, price lists, owner's / instruction manuals, competitive comparisons, technical documentation and sales training manuals
•Provides product content information to the company’s web master to ensure timely accurate consumer information•Organizes and conducts competitive product evaluations and present findings to marketing and sales departments
•Provides input to marketing and sales departments on new technology, product offerings or promotion issues, which might affect the sales, profitability or the company’s sales channels•Attends Product Planning meetings and teleconferences. Provides detailed action items and notes after all such meetings

Job Requirements College degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
A minimum of two to three years experience working in a Product Planning departmentFamiliarity with wireless, visual, Navigation and communication technologyAbility to prioritize projects and keep them on scheduleGood oral and written communication skillsAbility to manage vendors and work in harmony with other support groups within the company
