Operator - Operation of Traffic Management System equipment at the VDOT Smart Traffic Center, 24-hour/7 day per week facility located in Staunton (Personnel Req. No. URS14428), VA. Involves working on a flexible shift and is “essential” during emergency operations. Ideal candidate will have experience in command, control, call or 911 type center operations and activities using related computer and communications equipment. Traditional call center experience will also be considered. Must be computer literate and proficient in Windows operating system and be able to effectively understand and communicate in person, on the radio and on the telephone. Familiarity of local/regional Interstates and roadways is required. Require High School Diploma or GED. Criminal history background and DMV check required. Salary is $13.64 per hour.
