Fleet Manager

Responsible to manage the daily PM and Repair of the Truck, lifts, equipment and tools. The Fleet Manager is responsible for the Auto Mechanics of Skyline Steel, Inc. to include:
1) Vehicle Accidents - Take the initial accident report from the driver or law enforcement officials and communicate with management for handling with insurance company. Take photos of damaged equipment and get repair orders for the equipment. Ensure the driver complies with drug and alcohol testing requirement, subrogate vehicle damages, counsel drivers, comlplete evaluations from each accident and coordinate with H.R. Manager and insurance company.
2) Traffic Tickets & Roadside Inspections: Review and return to the state, charge driver as required. Follow through and take ownership of the necessary corrective actions according to the documented tickets. Working in coordination with the H.R. Manager.
3) Assist Safety Director with various safety tasks as assigned or as necessary.
4) Manage Auto and Equipment Repair Shop to include:
maintaining a qualified staff and qualified vendors to do repairs on small equipment , power tools and company vehicles. maintaining equipment and vehicle safety inspections, licensing and certifications. manage and/or maintain safety and repair documentation and maintenance files/records on equipment, power tools and company vehicles. ordering supplies and parts through SSI Accounting process.
REQUIREMENTS
Five (5) years experience as Fleet Manager, knowledge of DOT/EPA rules and regulations, computer literate in MS Windows, Word and Excel. Must have a working knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier regulations. Must have excellent organizational and leadership skills, ability to perform in high pressure and effective communication skills. Also, will be expected to work overtime and some weekends as needed.
