Assistant Manager, Trade Services Dept.

Candidate responsibilities include: scheduling, task break down, setting priorities, and delegating projects and assignments, monitoring projects for quality assurance and resolving deviations for staff. Also responsible for leadership, coaching staff members, and conducting resource planning to meet business objectives. Lead complex multi-division/department projects that include cross-divisional/department business unit process decomposition/change as it relates to the supply chain and compliance. Will also assist Manager in supervising staff, budget and business plan development and management. Manage existing systems and procedures and assist in the systems requirement definition, development and implementation of new systems and procedures as necessary to ensure legal compliance with Customs and other government agencies laws and regulations. Direct staff in preparing amd maintaining compliance with various government programs such as: NAFTA; monitoring anti-dumping; voluntary tenders; protests; customs entry /classification validation; declaration of subsequent payments--assists, royalties, purchase price variences. Respond to Customs commuications as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidate will have: 8+ years of experience working for a mid or large size multi-state customs brokerage firm in a compliance capacity and or importer with a minimum of 4 years supervisory experience. Bachelor’s degree in International Business or Business Administration is preferred, or equivalent related-experience. Customs broker’s license is required. General accounting or finance background a plus. P.C. literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office programs, flowcharts, spreadsheets, word processing, database and presentation required.
