The Web Manager administers the Arizona Student Unions' Web site, manages content, and creates dynamic web applications for e-commerce and value-added services through innovative web design, features and functions.

REQUIREMENTS
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop, from concept to completion, web-based applications for a variety of projects that are easy-to-use, yet functional. Projects may include interfacing with or replacing legacy systems as well as developing new applications that cater to the needs of the campus population.
* Confer and consult with Union departments requesting web work; develop ideas and concepts, provide project specifications and time requirements; create composites and develop concepts based on needs and budgetary considerations.
* Administer server hardware and software, including maintenance and upgrades. This includes after-hours monitoring to ensure uninterrupted operation, as well as on-call response to system failures to achieve minimum downtime.
* Provide maintenance and updates to existing application code, add new features and services as well as eliminate bugs.
* Ensure all web site content is kept up-to-date and accurate with current programs and activities.
* Design, produce and write HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript.
* Commit to learning and utilizing Apple WebObjects 5.x.
* Commit to ownership of the Union website and its advancement. Actively researches and recommends new web features, technologies, applications and services that benefit the University community while generating revenue for the Arizona Student Unions and its programs.
* Develop and implement visual and functional standards for the Union website that exhibit strong graphic design while maintaining ease-of-use and accessibility.
* Establish, develop and control quality and quantity standards, procedures and guidelines for design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of application software.
* Actively monitor and respond to server security and intrusion attempts to ensure the protection of private data.
* Participate in analysis and redesign of business processes and provide technical recommendations to managers and directors for various projects outside the scope of the Union web site.
* Provide technical support and training for Mac OS X computing systems of the Marketing Department and others as needed.
* Supervise and train student workers and interns, provide technical assistance and/or training to system users.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Demonstrated proficiency and experience with Java, SQL, and PHP in a production environment and coding HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP and SQL.
* Strong working knowledge of computer operating systems with Mac OS X Server, and relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle and OpenBase.
* Documented experience with web site design and maintenance, e-commerce technologies, database design and maintenance, credit card processing and security.
* Demonstrated experience and knowledge using web authoring tools (GoLive, Dreamwaver, etc.), administering an Apache web server, Xserve, and knowledge of various Internet server protocols such as IMAP, SMTP, SSH, and FTP.
* Strong experience in designing and maintaining dynamic and complex web sites.
* Experience with Apple WebObjects 5.x.
* Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing software and hardware problems on Macs and PCs.
* Experience with Adobe Flash, Quicktime, and application packages such as Adobe CS, Word, Excel, and Acrobat.
* Experience supervising and training students and/or other employees.
* Ability to: work effectively with individuals and teams; work creatively and follow detailed instructions when required; and, work efficiently and manage several jobs simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and demonstrated organizational skills, customer service focused, attention to detail, and high degree of openness to new approaches and new ideas.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field AND three years of systems and/or applications programming experience; OR, Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field AND four years of systems and/or applications programming experience; OR, Five years of systems and/or applications programming experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.
