Senior Partnership Accountant

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Partnership Accountant to be a part of our Accounting Department. This position will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

Responsibilities:
•Prepare quarterly and annual SEC filings along with capital statements and all supporting documentation.
•Prepare special SEC filings as needed.
•Prepare annual financial statements for private partnerships and tax credit funds.
•Prepare tax return workpapers for various investment partnerships.
•Prepare distribution calculations-public, private, etc. This includes annual surplus cash distributions, monthly conventional distributions and special distributions as a result of sales and financing.
•Prepare distribution histories.
•Calculate and report on investment performance statistics.
•Maintain private equity database including fund investments, fund transactions and portfolio company performance.
•Gather financial information for and provide insight regarding merger & acquisition and other tax issues.
•Responsible for the development of calculations, spreadsheets, and procedures required to allocate (in compliance with applicable tax regulations and partnership agreements) items of income, expense, capital gains and losses to the partnerships.
•Other duties / special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor of Science in Accounting

•2 – 3 years accounting experience

•Partnership Financial Reporting and Tax experience is beneficial

•Private equity or other investment partnership accounting is beneficial

•General Ledger accounting experience is required
