SOX ACCOUNTANT

Job Description:

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, as one of the state’s largest local and non-profit health insurers, strives to provide our customers and employees with resources to help them improve their health status. For over 60 years we have been providing health insurance to Arizonans.

We are seeking an experienced SOX Accountant to assist with the design of the framework for documenting internal controls including the selection of a system application that will be used to track the internal controls and requirements of this initiative.
This person will be responsible for working with all divisions in the company who affect what is ultimately recorded in the financial statements. This includes Finance, Sales, Internal Audit, Claims, Enrollment, IT and others. This will include establishing processes for these divisions to follow for documenting their internal controls. The framework for this project will be the building blocks for compliance with NAIC and the DOI (Department of Insurance) requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Skills:
Four-year college degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, auditing or business applications.
Five years of experience in SOX work or audit/accounting work is required.
CPA and/or MBA preferred.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience required.
Database and MS Project experience preferred.
Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills to communicate and work with all areas within BCBSAZ.
Must be able to establish and maintain cordial and effective business relationships with others.
Must posses the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and a high degree of confidentiality and cooperation with all areas of the company.
