Product Manager

The Product Manager will be responsible for the business results for Patient Billing and Payment Solutions (PBPS). This responsibility will exist throughout the product life cycle from idea through development, launch, operation and end of product life. The position will report jointly to the Emdeon Business Services (EBS) Product Management and to PBPS Business Unit Head.The Product Manager will create strategies and plans for his or her products, guided by overall EBS strategy. This individual will be responsible for obtaining Senior Management Team approval and funding for proposed strategies and plans, and for the management of previously launched PBPS online services. In addition, the PM will perform ongoing win/loss analysis to better understand the features that are required for improved sales success. Based on market-driven feedback from customers and prospects, the PM will write clear product requirements or refinements. The PM will work closely with development managers to define the contents and delivery of a product release.Responsibilities:
•Product results, including: usage, costs, revenues and contribution, proposed pricing, and ongoing customer profitability.•Creation of plans and strategies to achieve the product objectives and initiation of continuing competitor, market and user assessments.•Participation on the necessary EBS teams to help design, develop, price and launch successful products.•Act as internal and external champion of his or her product. This includes being the “one-stop-shop” for information on his or her product, target market and product competitors.•Proactive communicate with senior management on the product, its performance and any major issues or changes in the market or competition.•Initiate and review competitive assessments of products and services offered within non-medical verticals and by third parties targeting EBS’s primary markets.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
•Five to ten years product management experience•Prior experience with Consumer Billing and ePayment Solutions•Healthcare Industry knowledge•Ability to proactively engage customers and prospects•Excellent verbal and written communication and analytic skills
•Strong presentation skills, including experience having independently presented to the Senior Management level.
•Ability to work in an unstructured problem-solving environment and synthesize strategy plans and solutions.
•A work style that emphasizes a disciplined and organized approach to defining products, prioritizing features and activities and driving execution.
•Flexibility and self-motivation – with a problem solver’s attitude.•Ability to work independently yet collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment.
