Plant Controller

Classification: Full Time Compensation: $70,000 to $80,000 per year A Tuscaloosa automotive parts manufacturer is seeking a skilled Plant controller that applies principles of accounting in preparing financial analysis of plant operations to assist and advise plant management. Analyze past and present financial operations, and estimates future revenues and expenditures to prepare budget. Periodic reporting of analysis of results to corporate finance is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Collects and analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred. Also, projects future revenues and expenses as well as analyze and report on current financial activities.
Recommends adjusting general ledger entries to central accounting. Responsible for insuring the proper entry, flow and control of documentation, of the administrative portion of the following functions at the plant level: shipping, invoicing, purchasing and receiving, inventory and assets. Prepares and submits required local governmental reporting. Documents and analyzes current revenues and expenditures on a monthly basis as well as expected results with local management and submits to corporate management.
Develops and maintains automated budgeting systems which provide control of expenditures for activities such as production, maintenance, or to project activities such as construction of buildings. Including monitoring of standard costs. Assists in developing and implementing cost control measures. Advises management on matters such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Interprets budgets to local and corporate management. Prepares Monthly reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations, per plant and per project including KPI Score Card. Assists in the preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification at the plant level. Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities. Such as post SOP project calculations.
