Collection Rep I

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for researching claim and enrollment discrepancies on database and by phone. Write letters, call clinics and pharmacies, serve as support for Collections Department

Reports to the Collections Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Requires looking up patients on Concentra database, calling clinics, and calling pharmacies.
2.Research enrollment discrepancies by looking up patients on Concentra database and calling clinics
3.Research short-payments. Calculate appropriate payments and send letters for reimbursement.
4.Some receptionist relief.
5.Assists collections department as needed with claim research, telephone calls, and letter writing.
6.Maintains strict confidentiality.Job Requirements
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years office experience.
REQUIREMENTS: Computer experience, professionalism, confidentiality.
KNOWLEDGE:
1.Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and business office procedures.
2.Knowledge of insurance reimbursement procedures and practices.
3.Knowledge of Excel and MS Word.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
1.Strong computer skills.
2.Ability to navigate through a database.
3.Skilled in Excel calculating functions
4.Skilled in Word letter-writing functions.
5.Ability to understand EOBs and other insurance-related documents.
6.Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
7.Ability to prepare records accurately and in accordance with detailed instructions.
8.Ability to work effectively with co-workers as a team member.
