The Actuarial Associate provides actuarial services to support Assurant Health operations. The Actuarial Associate applies a high level of actuarial/statistical techniques to enhance risk management activities to achieve goals that contribute to the attainment of Assurant Health revenue and profitability targets.





Requires a minimum of two to four years of actuarial and general health insurance industry business experience;
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics and completion of three to six exams required for ASA designation. It is desirable incumbents to have attained advanced academic training in finance, economics, or a related discipline.

Requires knowledge of actuarial and risk management processes and a complete understanding of the factors that influence health insurance operational profitability;

Requires analytic ability to process complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and to effectively communicate the related required actions to a broad audience;

Requires ability to evaluate data needs and judge data quality;

Requires excellent oral, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate actuarial/financial analysis results throughout the company;

Requires ability to conduct analysis consistent with professional conduct standards and regulatory requirements;

Requires strong analytic ability to manage and provide analysis and advice relating to actuarial/ financial matters in a timely fashion;

Requires ability to learn to apply advanced actuarial modeling, forecasting, statistical analysis and actuarial techniques to valuation and reserving issues.Requires the ability to questions the processes in place to ensure accuracy and efficiency and to identify problems and to facilitate change.
