Accounting Supervisor - SVA Franchise

This is an opportunity to diversify your experience and have direct client responsibility. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of your client’s accounting processes. You will be responsible for monitoring workflow, developing efficiencies in processes and training staff. The position requires handling multiple engagements while supervising a team. A four year degree in accounting with 3+ years of accounting experience is required. Public accounting experience is preferred but not required. REQUIREMENTS
1.A supervisor will be able to perform all job expectations of a senior accountant without direct supervision. 2.A supervisor will interpret and implement organization policy and instructions to staff to achieve the goals and objectives for the department. 3.A supervisor will have the ultimate responsibility in making sure all aspects of a client’s accounting process are being performed correctly, and in the most efficient way. The supervisor will be expected to make changes as soon as any errors are discovered, or any inefficiencies are found. 4.Evaluate and monitor workflow to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities, and monitor budgets accordingly. 5.Handles interviewing and hiring of all department personnel, with the assistance of Human Resources. Continually assess the staffing needs of the clients assigned to them, and discuss with the director or principal any staffing changes that need to be made. 6.Participate in the training of associate / staff and senior accountants; offer guidance and direction and give constructive criticism. 7.Prepare staff evaluations for associate / staff and senior accountants under their supervision, recommend any merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions. 8.Review with the director or principal any significant matters that raise questions involving accounting or taxation principles or statement presentation. 9.Serve in education programs as an instructor or discussion leader. 10.The position is required to have substantial knowledge in all computer programs used. This includes, Great Plains accounting software, FRX, Crystal Reports, and Microsoft Office Suite. The supervisor is responsible for working with clients to create new reports, and is responsible for maintaining existing reports. The supervisor also must be trained in the POS systems that each client uses. 11.Supervisors are responsible for analyzing the client financial statements on a regular basis and communicating any trends to client management. 12.Supervisors will be expected to conduct meetings on a regular basis with client management to discuss financial trends and work with management to continually improve the client’s accounting processes. 13.Supervisors will evaluate a client’s banking needs and make suggestions to the clients based on those evaluations. 14.Supervisors will be responsible for the cash management needs of their clients, and must keep each client informed as to their cash flow situation. 15.A supervisor, in conjunction with the director and principal, will be responsible for marketing SVA Franchise Services, LLC. This may include attendance at trade shows and franchisee events, which would require travel, and overnight stays. 16.Supervisors will be responsible for billing their clients and resolving any questions or concerns the client may have.
