Perform underwriting due-diligence on newly originated residential mortgage loans on a targeted sample of production.

Essential Job Functions

•Identify underwriting / data discrepancies and other due diligence issues.
•Perform compliance reviews.
•Perform Fraud and Misrepresentation reviews and investigations.
•Review performance of originating underwriter.
•Review and track performance of broker/correspondence.
•Report all findings, issue reports to Manager of Quality Control.
•Assist as needed and perform other related duties and special projects as required.
•Works with the Operations liaison to resolve discrepancies and communicate
findings to the Quality Control Manager.
•Demonstrate professional behavior and teamwork, is punctual, dependable and adheres to company policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
College degree preferred
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience
3 to 5 years residential mortgage underwriting or quality control experience.

Skills & Knowledge
•Working knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC, Alternative, B&C investors guidelines
•Understanding of HOEPA and other compliance regulations.
•Demonstrated ability to work well with customers / clients.
•Ability to present a professional image and demeanor to internal and external
customers.
•Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external
customers.
•Basic knowledge of PCs and related software such as Excel and Word. Cogent QC systems a plus.
•Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to handle confidential material.
