ACCOUNTING POLICY AND RESEARCH MANAGERThe position insures that all technical accounting research is handled for the Bank and acts as a primary interface with the SEC, FHFB Examiners and external and internal auditors with respect to technical accounting and accounting policy issues.Responsibilities include assessing the financial and reporting implications of recently issued or proposed accounting standards and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Housing Finance Board and other relevant regulations and documenting the Bank's critical accounting policies and estimates in accordance with section 203 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOA) and as part of the Bank's financial disclosures and controls processes. Additionally provides accounting research support for proposed accounting treatments of new products and financial instruments and participates on fixed income and derivatives systems implementation team and participates in the preparation of Form 10-K, 10-Q and other public documents to ensure accurate technical accounting disclosures.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, and current CPA required with 8 years accounting experience, 3-5 years in public accounting and three years
experience in a technical accounting research and a Master’s degree in accounting area preferred. Strong foundation in accounting principles and procedures required, GAAP, SEC, and knowledge Section 203 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act highly desired.Demonstrated organizational experience documenting, evaluating, revising and creating internal controls, policies and procedures highly desired and strong communication (oral, written) skills are required as well as the ability to work well within a workgroup and cross functionally. Previous success presenting complex financial topics to various audience and ability levels highly desired.
